Tissue engineering is an extremely important area. It generally involves the use of materials and cells with the goal of trying to understand tissue function and some day enabling virtually any tissue or organ on the body to be made de novo. To achieve this very important long-range objective requires research in many areas. This book... addresses many of these important topics, and the chapters provide a foundation for the understanding and development of the cell-based systems needed for tissue engineering
.
Dr. Robert S. Langer
Institute Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from his Foreword to this book

5Best textbook on tissue engineering  Dec 31, 2008 By Biomaterials Faculty Member
As an instructor teaching tissue engineering to both undergraduates and graduate students for the past five years, I have been searching for the ideal textbook. This one is the best that I know of. It has beautiful color figures, nice quality paper etc. The book explains the fundamentals of how organs are made in the body and then goes on to describe how engineers are attempting to do this.

5brand new textbook  Oct 04, 2011 By seunghyun ha
I bought it on Amazon because it was way cheaper compared to school bookstore.
It was quite hard to get an used book. When I got it, it was almost brand new book without any note taking.
