This provides a comprehensive and integrated exposure to airplane performance, stability, dynamics, and flight control. Basic aerodynamics, dynamics, and linear control systems are presented. In this text, the airplane is assumed to be a rigid body, elastic deformations and their effects on airplane motion are not considered. Numerous solved examples illustrate theory and design methods. Several exercise problems with answers are included in each chapter to help the reader acquire problem-solving skills. In addition, Matlabae tools are used for the control design. In this second edition, several typographical errors are corrected, lists of symbols/nomenclature and tables of formulas are included to facilitate the reader.

5An Aircraft Engineer's One Stop Resource!  Jan 24, 2008 By R. Bramlette
As a fellow Aerospace Engineering student in Flight Dynamics and Controls, this book has been the best I've found yet. Not only does it provide detailed examples of THE MOST CONFUSING AND DIFFICULT topic in the field (Analysis and Design of Flight Controls) it also provides a great reference for Performance, Static Stability, Dynamic Stability, and Flight Dynamic Equations of Motion without Roskam's errors in copying the USAF Datcom (which is $250) and more examples than you can shake a flight stick at. Pamadi deserves a medal for this text. If you are currently pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace engineering and any one of the topics listed is causing you trouble, this text should explain things very clearly.

I highly recommend it over Etkin and Reid's book, Roskam's Flight Dynamics books (though this doesn't cover Digital Controls in as much detail), and Yechout's book ("Intro to Aircraft Flight Mechanics") though it's a close second and if you can afford it too (~$80), it's a valuable resource (it also won an AIAA Award). Though I wouldn't recommend you buy it unless you want to start collecting books on flight dynamics and controls.

4Most Excellent  Dec 24, 2006 By Calvin Walker
Great book! I use this book practically everyday. If you don't have a copy of the USAF Stability and Control DATCOM, this book is probably the next best thing. He presents the DATCOM techniques for estimating aircraft stability derivatives. One of the most used books in my library!
