5Making Walking Sticks for a Hobby  Aug 20, 2008 By alpluc22
This is a very direct and to the point book. It's not loaded with a lot of fluff. Following Mr. Dawson's advice and example, anyone can produce a functional and attractive walking stick with a minimum of tools. I would highly recommend this book to someone who would like to engage in a rewarding hobby. Well written, informative and a good value.

4Beginner basics  Jan 13, 2010 By CamGuy
I wanted to try my hand at making some walking sticks and only had an elemental idea of what was involved. This book is very brief, but contains some good tips and advice. I thought there might be more helpful information to be had, and I ordered STICKMAKING HANDBOOK, REVISED EDITION, BY Jones & George (per other reviewer's comments). It contained better, detailed information giving pros and cons of different methods of bending, finishing and storing that this book lacked. This is a good, inexpensive beginner's book, but I think heading straight for STICKMAKING HANDBOOK would have been the way to go.

1not worth the price  Apr 23, 2012 By phillips
This book was not what was expected. For the price, expected much more. Small book, it says 54 pages but forward page is number 9 and only a paragraph or two on most pages. Would not recommend.
