Usually ships in 1-2 business days | | | | | | The primary focus of this text is to provide a bridge for students between the academic world and the real world. This bridge is built through an understanding of what is law, how law is created, how law affects almost every activity of human conduct, and how legal institutions operate. Intended mainly for architectural and engineering students, but increasingly for those in business schools and law schools, this text features a clear, concise, and jargon-free presentation. It probes beneath the surface of legal rules and uncovers why these rules developed as they did, outlines arguments for and against these rules, and examines how they work in practice. Updated with the most recent developments in the legal aspects of architectural, engineering, and the construction processes, this text is also a valuable reference for practitioners that has been cited in over twenty-five court decisions. | | | |

Great for a Law Student Jan 27, 2004 This is probably the most comprehensive construction law book I have ever read. It is an absolute must for a law student taking construction law.

First, I am not a lawyer, but a praticing design/ contruction professional. I have used this book for years. I find it very well written and easy to use. I have loaned it to so many lawyers when thing get tight that I don't remember all of them. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has to deal with contracts and construction. When things start to go sour, its a great resource for all parties involved.
Best Construction Management Law Text Ever Dec 01, 2011
By P. Mcgee Written by an artisan of his craft. This should be the first book in a construction manager's library. The book is a fantastic reference for a national company or a local builder. Sweet walks you through the history and evaloution of the concepts, peppers them with real court decisions and analysis, applies them to today's enviornment, advises you of the current trends and tacitly invites you to join the discussion. I only wish I had the current edition. Required text for Western Carolina University's Master of Construction Management degree program.
Massive law textbook Mar 12, 2010

I bought this book for an undergraduate construction course (I'm a civil engineering student). If you have never read a law textbook, you should really brace yourself when reading this book. It is a massive textbook that contains many principles in law and how they relate to construction. When you read it, you can really get overwhelmed because there is so much material. That being said, it is an excellent textbook; it covers just about all of the legal aspects that engineers need to consider in the construction industry and I believe that any person in the construction industry should consider reading this book (considering the fact that the industry is flooded with bankruptcies, lawsuits and disputes).

We used this book for our senior level construction law class and it was a fantastic textbook. I feel that the reading was very thorough when presenting topics and the homework problems really reinforced the reading. This is a great text to own, especially when dealing with a professor who likes to throw a whole lot of back and forth debate with the class. *A must for anyone entering the construction insutry* -M.
