5An excellent reference book for undergrads in Mat Sci  Dec 08, 1999
This book is an excellent introduction to Ceramics. But, as an added bonus, it also comprehensively covers most of the topics in the Materials Science undergradute curriculum making it an excellent reference book.

5The Ceramics Bible  Jul 28, 2003 By Dennis
This is a tour-de-force textbook that covers the fundamental science behind ceramics and glass. And to the extent that the same energy equations (for kinetics, thermodynamics, stress and strain, defects, light transmission, grain boundaries, etc) apply to other inorganic materials, this book is an understandable reference for them too. It was the bible at MIT for Ceramics Mat Sci BS and MS students. Well indexed, a usable teaching and reference book.

5The Ceramics Encyclopedia!  Aug 23, 1998
It is all there!

Even though it is dated 1976, this book covers most issues of interrest.

5The ceramics "Bible" -- An excellent treatment of the subject  Jun 05, 2008 By Steven
This is an incredibly detailed, long and well-written text on ceramics that all materials scientists should read. Kingery covers all the basic aspects of ceramics, from structure to defects, thermodynamics to phase transformations. He then covers in depth each property, including heat transfer, diffusivity, magnetic, electrical, optical, mechanical properties, and much more. The text also discusses processing techniques and the chemistry behind the design of the materials. This is a fantastic and thorough text well worth the investment.
