This is a good reference book for someone already familiar with farming implements and needing only a back-up handbook for identifying a new type. This isn't as helpful as beginners as might be hoped, but is worth having within reach as a supplement to more in-depth books.

This book is a terrific resource! We are in the research/learning process before jumping into draft horse ownership and working them on our farm, and are looking for information about the various implements we see for sale or being used, with an eye to whether the implement would be useful to us. The book gives quite a bit of detail about the history and use of the implement, while also giving an idea of the effect on the animals, the care of the machinery, etc. We would highly recommend this to anyone who is new to drafts or who wants to expand how they use their drafts.
