It's OK, but not sufficient. May 14, 2009

This book would be a quick preparation for one who took all subjects in college. For someone has been out of college for several years, it probabaly takes about 2 weeks (total 14-20 studying hours) to finish this book and review problematic questions two (or three) days before the exam. This book will prepare a person to answer about 70-75% of questions correctly in the afternoon test. For materials covered in this book, it didn't provide any examples until the end of each chapter, regardless the topics could be from dealing with noise to radioactive wastes. It also didn't give questions with different level of difficulties. Moreoever, it DID NOT prepare and help one to "practice" to use meterials in other sections of the FE ref. maunal (the only book provided and allowed in the exam), such as the chemical reaction in Chemical Engineering, Moody diagram in the Civil Engineering or even pump design in the Mechanical Engineering. They are all common topics in the subject of Environmental Engineering. With experiences of teaching water and wastewater treatment and lab classes, I'll say some question design at the end of each chapter in this book do NOT consist of NCEES's philosophy. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a good FE/EIT Environmental Engineering prep book out in the market. Hopefully, the editors/authors will update and modify the book in the next edition to help readers passing the exam.
