With its virtually in?nite plasticity and versatility, the simple and straightforward building component concrete has emerged as the building material of the present. Building with Concrete not only provides the basic information needed to work with the material, but also pays special attention to the architect's role in planning and construction management. The book describes current trends in concrete technology including translucent concrete, lightweight wood concrete, and textile concrete. Field reports by practicing architects are also included in this indispensable resource.

3Expected something else.  Jun 03, 2008 By Andrew C., Malanca
This book is produced by the creators of Detail Magazine. With this in mind I expected there to be a lot more details. It contains more of a brief history, types of concrete, different applications, and just as the title depicts, "Design Examples", with minimal construction insight or details. Most of the examples were nothing spectacularly unique as well. I would recommend this as a resource for an architecture student, but there is not much substance for the practicing architect.

3Disappointed  Feb 13, 2012 By Alex "pegasus"
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. It is disappointing. DETAIL should revise this book and reintroduce Concrete Construction Manual that they stopped printing a few years ago.
